How a small decision can turn your life around

It is with much pride and enthusiasm that our Founder, Prem Chand Naik, shares his story on how he made a shift from an aspiring Doctor to a successful Chartered Accountant.

As a son of a school teacher, Prem always had high ambitions and to be a doctor was the ultimate one when he was appearing his 10th grade exams. His father had retired from his school as a Commerce teacher the same year and had started private tutions. As Prem was very sure of himself turning up to be a Doctor was initially deaf to his father's suggessions to attend his classes. After the exams, other than playing and watching cricket, he chose to help his father in classroom and student management. He started with maintaining the attendance registers and then the fee registers. When he started spending time at the Institute, he was excited to attend the classes just to beat his boredom. This is the time when he started getting the taste of Commerce. The passion and enthusiasm of his father intrigued him. Gradually he started asking doubts, started to read and finally grew to a level that he was able to answer doubts of other students. After 2 months, when the result came he knew very well what his path was.

This is a very small instance of how a small decision to make himself useful by helping his father, led to a life changing decision.
